FAQ
Q: How can I test whether my unit is working or not? A: The simplest way to confirm what the status of the unit is, is to
send a message to it. Send a text message to your vehicle’s unit
with the word STATUS Q: My CellStop unit does not respond to the STATUS message. A: This will happen if the unit is not on the GSM network (i.e. without
GSM coverage or without power). Confirm this by dialing the number of
the unit. The unit will pick up the call if all is in order. No feedback
is given after the call had been picked up. Contact the CCT to re-configure
the unit. Q: I am no longer receiving my Daily Report A: The daily report is sent only to the owner (00 user) of the unit. The only times that the daily report will stop sending is when it has been disabled by the 00 user or CellStop Customer Care on request. It may also indicate that the unit is not functioning correctly in which case the Customer Care Team (CCT) should be notified on 0860 027867. Q: My unit does not reply when I send a WRU to it A: The WRU will respond to authorized users alone. Authorized users are identified by their cell phone number. Non response therefore signifies that the user is not registered on the unit, or that the unit is faulty. Confirm the unit’s status as explained in the answers above and take the appropriate action. Q: I don’t want the Daily Report by SMS any more / I want it at a different time. A: The administrator (“00 user”) of the unit has the access
to alter a number of parameters on the unit. The parameters that the user
may alter differs from one product to another. Contact the CCT for friendly
efficient assistance. To switch off the sending of the daily report the time would be set to
00:00 or simply left blank, thus: A: The “00 user” may choose to do this. This does not mean that this user will receive any alarms or daily reports, it merely gives the person the access to query the status and position and history of the unit. The additional users (referred to as “01 users”) cannot alter anything on the unit. To add a user to your unit, send the following message to the unit: Q: How do I go about sending a VRU A: Very similar to sending a WRU (Where Are You) the VRU (Visual where Are You) is sent as a text message to the unit with the text: VRU The unit will respond to the sending party (only authorized users of the unit) with an internet link. Open the Internet link and you will have access to three different map levels and two sizes of each of these maps as well as a text description of where the vehicle is. Q: Can any cell phone view a VRU response A: Only cell phones that can access the internet can view the VRU response. To set this up, the user needs to contact their own cell phone service provider to assist in the configuration settings (Typically a code that the client enters on his cell phone to retrieve the configuration settings from the network and once saved on your phone, the phone is set up for internet access. A: CellStop Locate is a very useful feature that is part of the CellStop SVR600 and Fleet Unit product offerings. This feature gives the user access via an Internet site to view his vehicle(s), draw status reports and a host of other reports on it. It boasts animated maps as well as a hybrid map feature that overlays the animated maps onto the Google Earth satellite images. See the Products page for more detail. Q: How do I obtain access to CellStop Locate? A: If you are an SVR600 customer with CellStop, you can simply follow the link to the site (http://www.cellstopsa.com/locate) click on the New User link above the Login boxes; complete your registration detail (you only need to register one time). Once you are logged on the vehicle you want to be able to view can be linked by inserting the unit’s number in the “Vehicle MSISDN” box and the VRN in the Vehicle Registration number and click “Add Vehicle”. The system will check that the unit is indeed an SVR600 or Fleet unit, will register it and send the “00 user” a registration verification code. Once this code is complete in the box provided for it (the page displays it once the “Add Vehicle” is clicked) the vehicle will be available to work with. For complete instructions / user manual, contact the CCT Q: What is the CellStop Vehicle Management System? A: The CellStop Vehicle Management System – or VMS is the complete software package that accompanies the acquisition of Fleet units. This software puts the customer in complete control of their units’ configuration and operation. As the name suggests, the software has been developed with Fleet Management in mind and is thus best suited for this purpose. Contact our CCT and the appropriate Client Relations Officer will be in contact with you shortly. Q: Do all of the CellStop units operate on GPRS? A: All the new CellStop units are capable to operate on GPRS. Whether the GPRS on your unit is active or not is determined by the particular product offering you choose. The SVR600 and Fleet units make use of GPRS technology to reduce the cost of the communication (same amount of data is sent at a fraction of the cost), however, the other products are not set up to use GPRS as it does not involve active tracking but only “Respond upon request” type of locating service. All alarms are currently sent by means of SMS as this has a higher priority on the GSM networks than that of GPRS. Q: Do you offer Recovery on your units? A: We offer recovery on the CellStop units via an affiliate company Recovery United Nationally. The CellStop monthly subscription includes the recovery of stolen / hijacked vehicles. Q: What makes the CellStop Product offering unique? A: We have a product to suite every need. The unique ability of the unit to report directly to the user if there is any violation to report. Also the powerful features of the unit and the CellStop VMS means that the user has access to extensive Zone Rules, Intelligent Over speeding, vehicle abuse indicators and many other features. For an assessment of your unique needs, feel free to contact the CCT so that they can put you in contact with the appropriate Client Relations Officer.
